The Adelaide Uni Lacrosse Club welcomes players of all ages, gender and abilities.
What is lacrosse? Lacrosse could well be the most fun you will have on grass… and is the fastest field sport there is. The skills are easy to pick up so don’t be scared off if you have never played before, as we have lower grades for beginners. We also welcome experienced lacrosse players of all levels.
Although our club is small, currently fielding two Men’s division 2 teams and two Women’s teams (Division 1 and 2 teams), we are a very social club, so the fun doesn’t stop off-field.
In the week following O-week AULC have a come-and-try day in the North Adelaide parklands with a sausage sizzle. This is a very casual relaxed evening where you can meet some great people who will tell you how awesome lacrosse is, throw a ball around, have a beer and get fed - all for FREE!
Our club has regular pub nights, barbecues, and also an annual quiz night, pub crawl, fun-run and wine and cheese evening.
There is an annual Intervarsity competition in October of each year - this year Adelaide will be hosting Melbourne Uni and current uni students can also take part in the fun five-a-side university challenge.
We also think we have the best merchandise and uniforms out there - although we may be a little bias.
Don’t think we are not competitive! Our Men’s team is the reigning premiers and our Women’s Division 1 team won back to back premierships in 2014 and 2015.
Our club celebrated it’s 125th year in 2014. Founded in 1889 by Nobel Prize winning Professor William Henry Bragg it is the oldest lacrosse club in South Australia.
What about fees I hear you ask? If you want to play lacrosse we have the most competitive fees in SA and we also give heavy discounts to new players and current Adelaide Uni students. We can also loan you the equipment and uniform to start you off.
So what are you waiting for?
Come and see us at the O-Week stand, at our Come-and-Try day or from March you will find us training out the front of the new Graduates Clubroom (yes, we get to use the fancy new clubroom) in the North Adelaide Parklands, corner of Mackinnon Parade and Frome Road.
