CLUB COMMITTEE NEEDED
The Adelaide University Lawm Tennis Club (AULTC) is looking for a group of people to manage the club long term. Roles that need to be filled include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Coordinator and Competition Manager.
If you are interested in taking up a management role please email email@example.com for more information.
ABOUT THE CLUB
The AULTC is one of the founding clubs of Adelaide University Sport and the men were first hitting the tennis balls over the net in 1885. Women started in 1912 and the two clubs combined in 1970.
Today the club is involved in social and competition tennis on natural grass and hard court. There is a strong social element to the club, both with social tennis and with the competition teams. And the club holds end of summer & winter season dinners for both social and competition players.
The club is open to all standard levels of players but those playing competition must be of a good competition standard, who are able to serve and rally consistently. We found the standard very tough, even in the lowest grade, thus players, who previously have successfully played competition tennis on grass, would have an advantage.
Please note – if you have not previously played on lawn before we strongly recommend you come along for a try, as players foreign to the surface will require adaption to the surface (we think you’ll like it).
Balls are supplied, but the expectation is players provide their own tennis attire and racquet.
If you are interested in joining the club please read the following information below and contact the club at firstname.lastname@example.org
The lawn courts which we use in summer are located in Park 10, not far from the archery centre off War Memorial Drive and next to the Council nursery as shown here.
Winter is finally over and warmer weather awaits! What better way to enjoy the weather than to play tennis on our very own lawn courts located just a short walk from the University of Adelaide.
The AULTC has 8 lawn courts in total. The courts are regularly maintained to ensure they are in good condition. It is a different experience playing on grass, so if you're interested, grab your racket, your water and meet Hewett at the courts for a hit. Remember there is no coaching available at these sessions.
