Now well and truly into the heart of the season round 10 saw the Blacks ladies head back to Morphett Vale to take on the Tigers for the second time.

Unlike round 1 when we met the Tigers, they had a full team and were raring to go. Luckily we were also ready to go, getting out to an 18-8 quarter time lead.

The second and third quarters saw more of the same, with some good defence (although we are still working on moving our feet and not reaching with our hands), and some serviceable offence (unfortunately continuing to miss plenty of easy looks), seeing us up 38-16 at the half, and then 61-23 at three-quarter time.

Despite the big lead our defence was starting to slacken so Super Coach Tuz gave us the challenge of keeping Southern under 30. It got close but we just held them out winning the game 79-29.

The best part of this week was our spread of scorers – Eager Beaver Dani top scoring with 19, Tammy Turtle 16, everyone’s favourite Pokemon Evie had 14, Jaz the Bee-sting hitting a handy 12, Hail-Storm Hailz knocking in 10 and Baby Huey Laura closing out the scorers with 8.

Next round sees us take on our rivals Centrals again at Pasadena.

Go Blacks!
