And another one bites the dust
It seems that we've come to the end of 2018, and still in one piece? AUTC would like to thank all of our members for their continued enthusiasm and involvement. 2018 has been such an awesome year, but 2019 promises to be even awesomer!!!

Waite Summer Competition

The season is currently on hiatus following the Christmas round, but we'll be back up and running on January 10th!!

Coaches Reports
AUTC Pumas: Last game of the season looked promising. Team carried on strategies of previous week. 3-2 lead at half time was built on in second half. A last gasp try by the opposition levelling the game 6 all at full time. Subbing improved. Attack 2 and get off a good policy with 6 female subs. Boys with 1 sub worked hard, although obviously tiring.

Need to continue with the strong rucking for the rest of the season and spreading across the field in attack.

Defensively we have to continue to apply pressure and get in the face of the opposition denying them space to run. Make touches with a short arm. Keep talking and supporting each other.

AUTC Cheetahs: There are a lot of experienced teams in the C/D grade who have been playing together for years. The Cheetahs have never played together before this season and so against these teams haven’t had the most successful start to the season. Despite this, everyone has been working hard to improve and have done so as they’ve played more and more together and began to work to each other’s strengths. Defence is our strongest point and has continually held those experienced teams back from breaking through. Our attack has lacked aggression until toward the middle of the season as we learned what worked best for us.

AUTC Panthers: The AUTC Panthers have had a tough season facing some of the strongest opposition teams all year.

Whilst player numbers have been up and down, the team has continued to make massive improvements in team synergy and coordination in both attack and defence. There have been many on field highlights. However, all agree the best memory was the post-game picnic after the last round, with players bringing more cheese and biscuits than the local Bega factory.

AUTC Tigers: AUTC Tigers have been off to a great start this season, with 6 wins and 2 losses entering the Christmas Break, good enough for second place on the C/D grade ladder. Despite the good record thus far, the early performances have been somewhat disjointed, as is to be expected. However, with the team starting to gel quite well of late, the team is poised to make a good run in the second half of the season, with contesting the Grand Final being a very attainable target.

The playmaking ability of Rick Wilkinson and Tim Phillips has dominated many a game, as has the strong performances from the female contingent of the team (Tiana Harris, Rachel Neef, Ellen and Megan Jones and Ellen de Vries, as well as those who are generous enough to fill in). Tyson Blanco has been scoring for fun, and making a nuisance of him self in defence, and Nat Inglis and Jono Anderson have continued their development at an impressive rate. The long awaited return of Charles Green to a touch field has been much welcomed, bringing experience and dinner plates to this team.

In short, this very talented team has been a pleasure to coach so far this season, and I wish them all a Happy Holidays.

AUTC Lions: After hitting our peak at the end of winter on the wine tour, the GOATs fell into a rut to start the summer season. A lack of Team Bonding events has driven our game attendance down from a solid 63% in winter to an all time low of 52%. Josh Larder has made a point of trying to get best on ground every match, but this will only lead to disappoint at the end of season awards yet again. Great new starters in Tyler Kendall and Joss Lines have boosted the average fitness of the team, as we struggle to keep the ageing GOATs on the ground. Caitlin Skinner has been a great asset out on the wing and Daniel McCabe has taken his rightful spot as the true impact player off the bench. The off field spirit is as bright as ever, and we will use the Christmas break to rejuvenate and come back to claim another premiership out of nowhere 🐐.
