AU Sport is excited to announce, that it is once again partnering with Uni SA Sport and Flinders Uni Sport and Fitness, to host SA Sport Club Conference.
The South Australian Sport Club Conference is an annual conference and is aimed at providing club volunteers with ideas, knowledge and contacts to assist them in running their club effectively. This year’s conference will focus on personal leadership and club culture, providing real-life examples of the importance of this in leading and driving a successful club environment.
A number of valuable guest speakers will present and facilitate discussion at this year’s conference, including;
Kelly Vennus – Leading Teams
Leading Teams focuses on creating high performing teams and individuals to improve performance, working with professional sporting teams (ie Sydney Swans), corporate organisations and the education sector (ie UniSport Australia). Leading Teams’ facilitators are experienced facilitators who understand that while ‘knowing’ about improving teams is important, knowing ‘how to’ is what delivers results. They specialise in the delivery of culture change, leadership and team development programs that create high performing teams.
Bronwyn Klei – General Manager, Adelaide Strikers
Bronwyn Klei is the General Manager of the Adelaide Strikers and in mid-March, commences her new role as the CEO of the Netball SA. She is passionate about the difference sports and sporting clubs make to communities and an advocate of more women in sport. Bronwyn is a leader in the sports industry, building highly successful sporting businesses and helping guide sport in her state, yet still retains a strong connection with community sport as the President of both her local netball association and club.
University Club Panel
Outstanding clubs from each University will present as a panel to discuss on a number of important club issues and strategies to effectively manage them.
The conference is supported by the Office of Recreation and Sport and University Sport Australia. University Sporting Club and non-University club administrators and volunteers are invited to attend this conference.
"I'm really excited for our clubs to attend this year's conference. Those who attend, will come away so motivated to put into practice what they have learned from the day," says AU Sport, Sports Development Officer, Sara Lane. "This year, I'm especially looking forward to seeing what Kelly Vennus, from 'Leading Teams', is going to present. I have been lucky enough to attend a 'Leading Teams' presentation before and I walked out of that session with a number of light bulb ideas. It was great."
