Having a bar at your Adelaide University Sport club facility can add value to your club by creating a social space for your members and supporters to watch your games, hold social events and a source for additional income. However, having a bar also means additional responsibilities for committees and members. Clubs must ensure they are meeting the legal requirements, management systems a and their duty of care of those being served.

To support our ten clubs who have a Liquor Licence, Adelaide University Sport has joined with Clubs SA who will assist our clubs and ourselves understand the impacts of the South Australian Government's reforms to Liquor Licences, ensuring that all facilities are being managed constantly across all venues and where best practices are the norm. Clubs SA, Membership Manager, Christine Carter, says "I strongly encourage your attendance as we are keen to ensure that you fully understand the benefits of Clubs SA assistance and how it can save your club time, stress and money." Those attending will be provided clarity to how the changes will impact each club and get access to a Clubs SA Liquor Licencing manuals which will ensure that each club is compliant with its licencing obligations.

Adelaide University Sport will also work with Clubs SA to conduct audits on all venues and plan opportunities for club members to get there Responsible Service of Ahocol.

This first session will be hosted by Adelaide University Boat Club on August 7th and it is hoped that future sessions will also be held at our other sport clubs' venues with bar facilities.
