IV Netball

Reviving the rivalry IV vision

The University of Adelaide has a long history of intervarsity competition in many sports and after the successful re-establishment of IV Football in 2016, an IV Netball competition was establishing in 2018.

Following the IV Football format, the competition - 'Varsity Challenge Sport Conference' involves Universities from South Australia, Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

What’s involved?

Intervarsity netball (IV Netball) is your opportunity to represent the University of Adelaide in one-off netball matches against other Australian Universities in a nationwide competition.

Game days are decided by the competing Universities and are either played at University’s organised courts (Netball SA) or away at the host university facilities. AU Sport covers the costs of travel and the AU Netball Club (AUNC) assists in managing the team.

Who is involved?

This competition is not linked to Netball SA or any other league. It is completely amateur and only open to university students. It is organised solely by the Universities involved and endorsed by UniSport Australia. The Universtiy of Adelaide team is coordinated by AU Sport with the support of the AUNC, and other university departments.

Only University of Adelaide students are eligible to be selected for the IV Netball team. It does not matter if you don't play for the Adelaide University Netball Club. If you play for other community clubs, we encourage you to be involved with this opportunity. Those who are playing SAIS athletes, State League, Reserves, A and B grade are strongly encouraged to register.
