It was one of the closest finishes to date, but ECMS has come out on top at the 2018 Vice-Chancellor's Cup!

In the 10th edition of the Cup footrace, there were six teams in the running. There was no clear favourite going into the race but with some of the fastest athletes to date competing, it was going to be enthralling.

After winning four of the first five VC Cups, it has been a long wait for the next victory for ECMS. The team was tested on the final straight coming down the Goodman Steps as the two final runners from ECMS and Health and Medical Sciences were neck and neck. Though with the energy wasted trying to catch ECMS, H&MS was no match turning onto the Barr Smith Lawns, finishing 10 metres further back.

The big surprise packet was Uni Operations, which had never finished better than fifth. The team looked very consistent on paper, and it proved to be the case as it finished strongly with a deserved third place finish.

Finishing positions:

1st - Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences

2nd - Health and Medical Sciences
3rd - Uni Operations
4th - Professions
5th - Sciences
6th - Arts
