Funding Support for Clubs and Athletes

AU Sport has a comprehensive funding support program to support University of Adelaide Athletes and AU Sport Clubs.

The following athletes and clubs have received a funding boost as part of the 'Pathway to Performance' program:

International Athletes

James McKechnie (Swimming) $1500
Hugo Langsford (Boat) $1500


AU Kendo - enhanced elite training program $400
AU Cycling - enhanced elite training program $2,000

Congratulations to the following Clubs, which the AU Sport Board has supported as part of the AU Sport Grants Program:

Elite Sport

AU Boat - contribution to costs of development coaches (up to $3,500)
AU Cricket - contribution towards elite coaching program (up to $7,350)
AU Football - contribution towards elite program (up to $8,000)

Club Development

AU Cricket - 50% of costs for Adelaide Turf coach and women’s development coach (up to $1,750); costs of SACA coaches’ courses for two male and two female coaches (up to $1,272); costs for intervarsity program in Queensland covering AU student travel (50% contribution), bus expenses and tournament fees (up to $2,460)
AU Kendo - contribution towards the cost of holding club competitions against Flinders and UniSA clubs for AU Kendo club members only (up to $457)
AU Water Ski - 50% contribution to the cost of club training day for barefoot skiing (up to $500)
