Fencing - Another successful day for our fencers. With a Bronze, again beating UTS in the final of the Sabre Men's Competition. That was followed with a fantastic Silver to Maria. In a tight Gold Medal match, Maria got off to a quick start, but could not hold on, eventually going down 15-10.

Lawn Bowls - Lawn Bowls finished the minor rounds with a clean sweep of WSU. This result secured a top four finish for the week. In the semi final, the boys came up against the top finishing USQ. With two of the three games super close, it came to the last bowls in each game. For the boys, they came up just short, going down in a closer than suggested 3-0 scoreline. They will compete against Deakin on the last day of competition for the Bronze.

Beach Volleyball Women - USC got their payback for us beating them yesterday, and they relegated us to the Bronze Medal playoff. Tomorrow, the girls will hit the court in a favoured position, hopeful to add to our impressive haul of medals.

Beach Volleyball Mixed - In a quiet day for our mixed team, the team came back from 6 match points down to take out the game and to seal a playoff for ninth tomorrow (out of 21).

Futsal - In a heated game, the Futsal crew gave it their all. Heading into the second half, the game was locked at 0-0, but with UNSW on the back foot, they hit the boys on the counter. At 2-0 down it was a respectable score line, but with the last kick of the game, UNSW scored again to finish the game 3-0 and relegate us to a fifth place play off tomorrow.

Hockey Men - In an epic, the men's team went 1-0 down early. Seeming to be running out the game well, the team battled back to take the match to penalties. With the last penalty missed by the opposition, James Humphries stepped up to slot the winner. The boys now take on UQ tomorrow for the Gold!

Hockey Women - Unfortunately for the girls, similar to the last time, a 2nd minute goal was the difference. With one second left on the clock, a penalty corner was awarded, but our shot went narrowly wide to end the game.

Athletics - Aimee was the only Athletics competitor to compete on Wednesday, and with a strong field, Aimee didn't jump to her potential and finished in eighth place.

Swimming - Tiffani made two finals on Wednesday to end her week. The 50m Freestyle was first and with the 200m breaststroke following directly after, she went easy for an eighth place finish. As said before, Tiffani jumped straight out of the pool and then straight back in for the 200m Breaststroke. Probably short of breath, a sixth place finish was probably a great result.

Boat - It was the first day for our Rowing team today. We had eight teams on the water with a very consistent performance by all. With two pools in all categories, our teams finished fourth in the Men's Coxed, Women's Double, and Fifth in the Men's double, Lightweight Men's single, Women's eight, Women's coxed four, Mixed four and Men's eight. All teams have progressed to the repechage and the women's eight to the final on Friday.
