The road racing was hosted by South Coast Cycling Club as a graded race at Kangarilla. In women’s A, new committee member Sophie Edwards finished a close second to SASI teammate Breanna Hargrave, Jo Easson made fourth. A special shout-out should go to our new Women’s Officer Jazz Martin who set the fastest time of the day, missing the start by 4 minutes and riding the entire race solo for nearly 2 hours to make the catch on the last corner in her first race for Gravier Cycle Collective. In men’s A was very fast and taken out by Cam Bayly with Angus Dickson and Max Hardy both making the finish while Dan Lynch suffered.
Men’s B was dominated by Lachie McRae who took out the win followed by Gravier teammate Matt Bird in second. Our esteemed president Andrew Edwards was sadly taken down in a crash while sitting well in Men’s C but was gladly alright. We’re also very excited one of our new members Sienna Gardiner raced for the first time in women’s C and had a blast. While Edward Chung, Peter Branson and Peter Scaife were all in men’s D.
