After a weekend quoted by some as ‘the best weekend of my life’ in Tanunda the Blacks ladies had to suit up on Tuesday night to face a young quick Forestville side.
Everyone was prepared and raring to go again, especially Jazzy ‘Dusty’ Moyle who had cunningly chosen not to play the Grand Final in Tanunda to save herself for our Tuesday night game…right?
The first few minutes were a little on the slow side as we warmed up, but we quickly pushed the scoreboard out to be up 26-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter saw more of the same, with the Blacks ladies out to a 47-24 half time lead.
Dusty, again for the 11th game in a row, checked which direction we were going as we began the third quarter…I guess better she asks than heads the wrong way…right?
A great defensive effort in the third saw us go on a 25-5 run and be up 72-29 at the end of the third.
By the fourth we had certainly found our rhythm and continued to put our foot down closing out the game with a 104-38 win. Scarily this could have been an even bigger margin had we made all the easy ones we missed…
The most impressive part about this week was that everyone contributed on the scoreboard and only one person was in foul trouble – a welcome change for us! Sic’m Rex Lexi had a break out game knocking down 9 points and looking confident around the basket, Dusty got another handy 8, Hail Storm Hayley picked up 10, Baby Huey Laura 12, Eager Beaver Dani 15 (with another 5 fouls to her name), everyone’s favourite Pokemon Evie had 25 and myself Tammy Turtle also had 25.
After a busy week, the Blacks ladies get a break next week with a bye. Good time to reset and get fired up to take on a tough rival in South the following week. Maybe a Tanunda review might be in order in the interim….
