The Adelaide University Boat Club have had a golden weekend in Renmark taking home gold in seventeen different events at the Second Grade State Championships.

Club Captain Hugo Langsford believes the weekend's positive signs will set the club up for the start of 2020. "Generally the regatta was a great experience for all. Many new members were given the opportunity to race for the club for the first time and in many cases walk away with a win. This was a great way to finish off a successful start to the season and the club is looking forward to 2020."

While the First Grade competition isn't until February, Hugo emphasised the importance of the Second Grade event. "Second Grade State Championships is a great opportunity for club members to compete against people of their own ability in a competitive and high stakes scenario. Winners are obviously state champions but also receive double points for the club which is important for the end of season club titles."
